THE WIND IN WINTER

The wind in winter
Blows where it will
Down through the valley
Over mountain and hill.

It whistles through the cracks
In the old cabin door
Teasing the fireplace
To crackle and roar.

The wind in winter
Blows where it will
Sending goose bumps and shivers
With a bitter chill.

But we're cozy and warm
By the fireside glow
Wrapped in granny's quilts
Dreaming of snow.
